MARSHALL — After falling to the Cardinals 7-5 earlier in the week, New Glarus responded to defeat Marshall 9-8 in nine innings on Friday, April 21. Easton Dreyfus drew a seven-pitch, bases-loaded walk that proved to be the difference. On Saturday, April 22, the Knights defeated the Highland Cardinals 7-4. Ethan Friedrich went 2-for-3 with a double, while Alt collected the win.

Monticello-Albany dropped a doubleheader to Belmont 11-0 and 11-1 on Friday, April 21. Carson Gafner led the team with two hits in two games.

Despite a two-hit gem from Keegan Dahmen, Monroe fell to Edgewood 3-1 on Friday, April 21. Ethan Rosenstiel went 2-for-3 at the plate with the lone RBI.

Black Hawk fell just short in its 4-3 loss to River Ridge on Friday, April 21. Carter Baumgartner went 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple but suffered the loss on the mound.

In softball, Argyle fell to Potosi-Cassville 7-2. Ava Wiegel led the offense, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Mya McNett suffered the loss in the circle.

Two runs and one hit from Kyra Chrostowski weren’t enough in Pecatonica’s 5-2 loss to Orangeville on Friday, April 21. Chloe Schraepfer suffered the loss, giving up just one earned run on five hits.

Monroe boys and girls track and field traveled to Sauk Prairie on Friday, April 21 for the Sauk Prairie relays. Both teams finished first of eight teams. The girls collected 96 points, while the boys totaled 90.5 points. The girls had three championship relay teams and one individual champion in Sophie McGuire, while the boys had two championship relay teams.

Sugar River track and field participated in the Deerfield Mini Invite on Friday, April 21. Both girls and boys teams finished first with 189 and 170.33 points, respectively. The girls had seven individual first-place finishes, while the boys had six individual first-place finishes.
