LA CROSSE — Monroe qualified for state in three events, and Sugar River four.
Lauren Coppes, a Monroe junior, finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 35-feet, 9.5-inches. Sugar River senior Ava Foley was eighth at 35-7.25. Ripon’s Celina Lopez was the champion at 36-7.75.
In the 1,600-meter relay, Monroe’s team of Ellery Bazley, Aleigh Zettle, Bre Lambert and Coppes finished 14th with a time of 4:13.22. In the 800-relay, Monroe’s Taylor Jacobson, Brenna Aebly, Coppes and Zettle were also 14th with a time of 1:49.33.
Sugar River junior Alex Atwell was sixth in both the prelims (15.93) and the finals (16.39) of the 100-meter hurdles. Atwell, Foley, Grace Nommensen and Herioli Fraire advanced to the finals in the 400-relay, and finished fifth overall (50.33), 61/100ths of a second behind champion La Crosse Logan. The same quartet was ninth in the 800-relay (1:48.94).
Brodhead-Juda sophomore Addison Yates competed in two events. She was ninth in the 100-hurdles (16.56) and sixth in the high jump (5-feet, 0-inches).
Shorewood won the D2 team title with 38 points. Freedom (30) was second.
