MILTON — The Monroe Cheesemakers lost to Milton, 5-2 in nonconference girls tennis on Monday, Sept. 22. The Cheesemakers played without Ryann Dahlman at No. 2 singles and Caedyn Blackburn at No. 3 doubles.
The Cheesemakers bounced back with a 6-1 win over Jefferson in Rock Valley Conference tennis on Tuesday. Monroe played without Mads Joseph at No. 4 singles and Caedyn Blackburn at No. 3 doubles, but Paizley Kundert at No. 3 doubles and Miah Coppes at No. 4 singles filled in and played extremely well, coach Matt Bordner said.
Bordner expressed that it was a great win on the road for the Cheesemakers.
“Jefferson is in our conference and in our subsectional, so these wins will be super helpful in our seeding for both tournaments coming up,” said Bordner.
Monroe (12-3, 4-1) hosted Edgerton on Thursday for senior night and the last home match of the season.
