MCFARLAND — The Monroe-New Glarus swim team was undefeated in conference duals headed into the Badger Small Conference meet on Saturday, Oct. 28. The Cheese Knights had defeated eight-time state champions Edgewood in the regular season 87-83, but the Crusaders rebounded to take the conference title. MNG finished as runners-up with 436 points.

In addition to the second-place finish, the 200-yard freestyle relay team comprised of Delaney Lynch, Anna Zentner, Harper Paradis and Megan Chapman broke the team record.

Last year at the Badger Conference meet, MNG finished sixth of eight teams.

FIRST-PLACE FINISHES

● 200-yard freestyle: Megan Chapman, 2:00.14

● 100-yard butterfly: Delaney Lynch, 59.99

● 100-yard freestyle: Harper Paradis, 55.16

● 500-yard freestyle: Megan Chapman, 5:22.69

● 200-yard freestyle relay: Delaney Lynch, Anna Zentner, Harper Paradis and Megan Chapman, 1:41.45

● 400-yard freestyle relay: Riley Hoesly, Anna Zentner, Megan Chapman and Hadleigh Shunk, 3:47.55

SECOND-PLACE FINISHES

● 200-yard medley relay: Hadleigh Shunk, Harper Paradis, Delaney Lynch and Riley Hoesly, 1:52.27

● 100-yard backstroke: Amelia Geib, 1:01.92

THIRD-PLACE FINISHES

● 200-yard IM: Anna Zentner, 2:20.51

● 50-yard freestyle: Harper Paradis, 24.90

● 100-yard backstroke: Hadleigh Shunk, 1:02.86

The postseason begins with sectionals on Saturday, Nov. 4. MNG has been moved up to Division 1 this season and will travel to Middleton.
