JEFFERSON — The Monroe Cheesemakers dropped their final match of the regular season to the first-place Jefferson Eagles in three sets, 25-14, 25-14, 25-18 In Rock Valley Conference, Valley Division volleyball on Tuesday Oct. 14.
The Cheesemakers closed the regular season in 4th place in the RVC-Valley with a 6-21 record overall and 2-6 in the conference.
The Cheesemakers travel to McFarland to face the Spartans in a WIAA Division 2 Regional quarterfinal on Tuesday Oct. 21.
Brodhead 3, Evansville 0
EVANSVILLE — In the next-to-last volleyball match of the regular season, the Brodhead Cardinals secured second place in the Rock Valley Conference, Rock Division with a three-set sweep of Evansville, 25-13, 25-17, 25-16 on Tuesday Oct. 14.
Allie Dahl led the Cardinals with nine kills. Other stat leaders were Karli Krumweide with seven aces, Gretchen Kammerer with 23 assists, Leah Rear with four digs, and Brynn Riesterer with two blocks.
Brodhead (27-9, 8-2) closed the regular season at home against Jefferson on Thursday. The WIAA Regional quarterfinals will begin on Tuesday Oct. 21.
Darlington 3-0 at Boscobel Quad
BOSCOBEL — The Darlington Redbirds went 3-0 at a SWAL quad at Boscobel on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The Redbirds beat Iowa-Grant 25-15, 25-12, Boscobel 25-14, 25-15, and Riverdale 25-27, 25-20, 20-18.
Lilly Ritchie played a huge role for the Redbirds as she had 27 kills and 32 assists through the three matches. Maddie Gratz had 18 digs, Catie Hartwig defended with eight blocks, and Camryn Andrews came up with eight aces.
Darlington closed SWAL Conference play at Iowa-Grant on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Black Hawk 3, Juda 0
SOUTH WAYNE — The Black Warriors scored a victory with a three-set sweep of the Juda Panthers, 25-20, 25-13, 25-23 in Six Rivers East conference volleyball on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Senior Mya Milz led the Warriors with 11 kills. Junior Maddy Place recorded nine kills. Junior Jaci Kammes racked up 12 assists and three aces while senior Riley Corley led the Warriors in aces with four.
Black Hawk will be a No. 10 seed in the WIAA Division 5 volleyball regional quarterfinal and will travel to Belmont to face the Braves, a No. 7 seed, on Tuesday Oct. 21.
