MONROE — The Cheesemakers had their WIAA Division 3 playoff game against Clinton/Turner postponed by a day due to storms. Then on Wednesday, June 4, Monroe knocked off their Rock Valley rivals 3-1.

Monroe scored in the 26th minute of the first half to take a 1-0 lead. Clinton tied it at 9:50 in the second half, but just 19 seconds later the Cheesemakers went ahead again. The final score came with less than seven minutes left in regulation.

It was the second time this season Monroe defeated Clinton.

The Cheesemakers advanced to play at top-seeded and second ranked Madison Edgewood on June 5.
