MNG falls to Baraboo in home finale

MONROE — The Cheesemakers held their final home meet of the season Oct. 19 against Baraboo and lost 103-67.

Monroe-New Glarus won four events on the night, with freshmen Delaney Lynch and Mazie Paradis winning two apiece. 

Lynch won the 200-meter freestyle (2:21.80) and the 400-free (5:01.50). Paradis won the 50-free (27.59) and the 100-butterfly (31.98) right away after it.

Riley Hoesly was second in the 400-free (5:09.66), and Morgan Erstad was second in the 100-back (1:12.12). MNG’s only other second place finishes came in all three relays.

The Cheesemakers swim at the UW-Platteville Invitational Oct. 23, then the Badger West Conference meet at McFarland Oct. 30. Sectionals are Nov. 6 at DeForest.
