MHS Dance qualifies for state for fifth year in a row

MONROE — The Monroe Dance team qualified for state in Division 2 Jazz and Division 2 Hip Hop. Additionally, all three of our soloists (Braylin Cleary, Aubrey Davis and Mikayla Schwawrtzlow) qualified to compete for the All-State title and Mikayla Schwartzlow and Lauren Stelter earned eighth place for their Division 2 duet for the State. They will be competing at the State Dance Championships at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse on Friday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 7.

●  Soloists competing for All-State title: Braylin Cleary, Aubrey Davis, Mikayla Schwartzlow

●  Hip Hop Choreographed by: Veteran Monroe Dancers Emery Smith and Kierra Zahradka

●  Jazz Choreographed by: Coach Kathryn Zastrow

●  This is the second year in a row that the Dance Team has qualified for both jazz and hip hop and all of the soloists have advanced to the all state competition.

●  This is the fifth year in a row that the Dance Team has qualified for state.

●  Divisions are decided based on school enrollment. Monroe is one of the smaller schools in its division.
