MHS 3rd at Sauk Invite; DBH wins at Lancaster

SAUK CITY — Monroe finished third at the Sauk Prairie Eagle Invite Jan. 8, scoring 184.5 points. Ithaca/Weston (282) took first, while West Bend East (218) was second. Eighteen schools participated.

Jack Dubach (138 pounds) was Monroe’s lone champion, going unbeaten on the day and scoring second-period pins in both the semifinal and championship.

Brady Schuh (145) was second in his weight class, losing 6-4 in the championship. Also taking second was Garrett Voegeli (120), who lost 6-0 in his title match.

Garrett Minder (106) and Isaac Bunker (285) were third place scorers, while Christian Schuh (132) was fourth. Monroe had just 10 wrestlers participate. There are 14 weight classes.


Lancaster Invite

LANCASTER — Darlington-Black Hawk won the team title at the Lancaster Invitational Jan. 8, scoring 254.5 points — just four more than the hosts, who took second. Belmont/Platteville (240) was third, followed by Brodhead-Juda (187.5). 

Individual champions for the WarBirds were Ethan Aird (106), Owen Seffrood (132), Maddox Goebel (152) and Owen Huschitt (182). Wiley Zasada (220) and Ross Crist (195) were second, and Joseph Standaert (145) was third.

For Brodhead-Juda, Marcus McIntyre (138) went unbeaten and took first place. Seth Mansfield (145) and Jacob Lohmar (113) each finished second. CJ Streuly (195) was third.
