BELLEVILLE — Junior Tyler Wollin passed for 352 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Lake Miles L-Cats to a 47-14 win over the Belleville Wildcats in a Week 4 nonconference game on Sept. 12. Wollin threw scoring passes of 44 yards to Jackson Roberts, nine yards to Ethan Gliniecki, four yards to Dylan Brinkman, and 30 yards to Ashton Winger while adding a rushing touchdown himself to keep the L-Cats (4-0) undefeated.
Belleville senior Cooper Nemec caught two touchdowns passes from junior Rayden Taylor, the first a 47-yard score in the first quarter, and the second a 74-yard TD pass in the third quarter for the Wildcats (1-1, 1-3). For the game, Nemec caught three passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Taylor was 6-17 passing for 144 yards. Senior Treyton Myers rushed 12 times for 64 yards.
Belleville coach Mike Nolden was encouraged by how his team competed against Lake Mills, a bigger school.
“I’m proud of our kids tonight. We played hard. They did a lot of good things. Obviously, we don’t feel good about the loss. But, we’re gonna get better. We’re in a much better place than last year when we made a good run. If we continue to get better every day, we’ll be just fine,” said Nolden.
In Week 5, Belleville will host Mineral Point in a SWAL conference game on Friday, Sept. 19.
