MONROE — New Glarus beat Monroe 4-1 in the Swiss Cup at Monroe Golf Club May 10.

The two schools played a match-play competition.

Monroe’s lone win came in the No. 2 spot, with Jack Rogerson topping Jared Martinson 6-and-5, meaning he was up six holes with just five holes left to play.

New Glarus senior Matt Hach beat Noah Becker in the No. 1 match, 6-and-5. Jacob Krantz beat Monroe’s Connor Allen 2-and-1 in the No. 3 match. At No. 4, Ty Ready defeated Bryce Winter 6-and-5, and Zak Arnett topped Stewart Sathoff 6-and-5 in the No. 5 match.

Monroe’s Badger Conference tournament was scheduled to be played May 14 at House on the Rock in Spring Green. New Glarus is scheduled to play in the Capitol Conference tournament at The Oaks in Cottage Grove May 15.

The Cheesemakers will then host New Glarus, Brodhead, Monticello-Belleville, Argyle-Pecatonica, Orfordville Parkview and Mount Horeb for an invitational outing May 17. Regionals for all area schools begin May 21.
