Invitational results for Verona, Darlington & Lodi

VERONA — Monroe finished fourth in the girls race and 11th in the boys at the Sept. 6 Verona Invitational. New Glarus-Monticello girls were 25th and the boys were 31st.

Sophomore Vicki Wolf led Monroe with 31st overall place out of 212 with a time of 20:41.6. Aniyah Jackson-Bey (33rd, 20:43.3) and Braylin Cleary (35th, 20:45.3) were just behind Wolf. Molly Olson led the NGM girls (44th, 21:19.2). 

In the boys race, Tre Dammen was seventh for Monroe (16:19.1). Dylan Gardner (125th, 19:00.7) paced the Knights in the 218-person race.


Darlington Invitational

DARLINGTON — The Lady Redbirds won the Darlington Invitational on Sept. 6, scoring 45 points — 34 clear of second-place Lancaster. Adalee Berget paced the Birds with a third overall finish at 19:44.0. Alina McGowan (6th, 20:37.9) and Brianna Vazquez (9th, 20:55.7) also finished top-10.

Emma Johnsen (27th, 22:54.0) paced 11th place Argyle-Pecatonica, while Olivia Fox (29th, 23:05.7) was the top Belleville runner. Albany was led by Lydia Ahnen (31st, 23:06.1) and Emerson Briggs (32nd, 23:06.3).

On the boys side, Darlington’s Marcus Kendall was second overall with a time of 17:55.3. Albany’s Kaleb Broughton was right behind at 18:15.2, taking fourth. Argyle-Pecatonica’s Ayden Slater (18:56.0) was 10th, and Carson Biermeier (19:09.8) of Belleville was 18th.

Fennimore won the boys race with 66 points. Albany was third at 118; AP fifth with 156 points; Darlington sixth at 171 and Belleville 10th out of 15 teams with 274 points. 


Lodi Invitational

LODI — The Brodhead-Juda Cardinal girls finished in second place at the Lodi Invitational on Sept. 6. Individually, Olivia Brooks placed fifth with a time of 22:16.9, Ryleigh Brown was ninth (23:31.2), Isabelle Yoshida 16th (24:18.2), and Quinn Burchard 20th (24:37.9) as the Cardinals scored 70 points. Jefferson won the girls race with 60 points.

In the boys race, the Cardinals placed fourth with 92 points. Janesville Parker won the Invitational with 30 points. The top runners for Brodhead-Juda were Mavrik Plummer (3rd, 17:56.2), Jorge Villalva (17th, 19:23.6), and Gauge Smith (18th, 19:33.9).

The Cardinals compete next at the East Troy Invitational on Sept. 11.
