MADISON — New Glarus senior Matt Hach concluded his stellar high school career with a seventh-place finish at the WIAA Division 3 state golf tournament June 3-4 at University Ridge.
Hach shot a 6-over-par 78 on Day 1, but a rain-shortened Day 2 score of 42 on the front nine saw him drop two spots on the leaderboard.
Sheboygan Lutheran’s Drake Wilcox won the Division 3 title by three strokes with a 1-over-par mark through 27 holes. Roncalli won the Division 3 team title by 11 strokes over Madison Abundant Life/Country Day. Sheboygan Lutheran was third and Stevens Point Pacelli was fourth.
Edgerton’s Joe Forsting won the Division 2 title, shooting an even-par 108 through 27 holes, though the Tider nearly blew a five-stroke lead after a stunning 5-under-par first round. Edgewood won the Division 2 team title by three strokes over Lakeland. Edgerton was third and Rice Lake fourth.
Marquette University School won the Division 1 team title, with Middleton second. Merrill’s Russell Dettmering shot a blistering 7-under-par to with the individual title in Division 1.
