BELLEVILLE — No. 8 New Glarus went 29-for-31 from the free-throw line in a conference win over Belleville on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Senior Lindsey Schadewalt finished with 38 points, going a perfect 20-for-20 from the charity stripe. Elle Lancaster tallied 22 points, including an and-one with 8:24 left in the game. The bucket gave the Knights the lead, one they didn’t relinquish the rest of the game.
With the win, New Glarus (18-2) improves to 8-0 in the Capitol South. Belleville (13-7) drops to 5-3. If New Glarus beats Cambridge (15-7, 7-1) on Friday, Feb. 9, the Knights would claim their third straight conference championship.
BRODHEAD 80, CLINTON 47
BRODHEAD — Allie Dahl and Addison Yates accounted for 60 of Brodhead’s 80 points in a conference win on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The pair recorded all but three of the Cardinals’ points in the first half.
Dahl scored 33 points with the team’s only 3-pointer. Yates finished with 27. Both totals were career highs. Six other players made their way into the scorebook. As a team Brodhead (13-7, 7-4 RVC) was 11-for-23 from the free-throw line.
Hannah Hahn led Clinton (3-16, 1-10) with nine points.
WHITEWATER 51, MONROE 19
MONROE — Missing leading scorer Sophie Golembiewski (6.2 ppg), the Cheesemakers dropped a conference game on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Monroe (2-18, 0-10 RVC) shot 5-for-18 from the field, whereas Whitewater (12-7, 8-3) was 18-for-38. Lindsay Leuzinger tallied a team-high six points all from beyond the arc. Delaney Fortney led on the boards with five rebounds, while another three players grabbed four rebounds — Brinley Roidt, Anastasia Lattin and Alexis Gertsch.
