BEAVER DAM — The Rock County Fury girls’ hockey co-op scored three straight goals to defeat Beaver Dam 3-2 on Friday, Dec. 2.
The Beavers got on the board first with a goal from Addy Damon, but the Fury didn’t back down. Emma Kligora tied the game at one with a power-play goal.
In the second period, Macy Murphy scored two goals three minutes apart. Her second goal proved to be the game winner, as Beaver Dam scored late in the second period. The third period was scoreless.
Jillian Traver played all 51 minutes in goal, allowing two goals with 17 saves. Fury’s defense limited the number of shots on goal for Traver, which proved key in the victory. Kligora ended the night with three points from one goal and two assists.
VERONA 7, BELOIT MEMORIAL 0
VERONA — Beloit Memorial was shutout in a Big Eight Conference game on Friday, Dec. 2.
The Wildcats scored five times in the first period, with their third and fourth goals just 20 seconds apart. Verona added two more goals in the second period.
Reece Cordray finished with three points from one goal and two assists, while Garrison Codde had two goals.
Beloit Memorial had 12 shots on goal against Blake Craven but couldn’t put one in the back of the net. Jameson Flanagan saw 53 shots on goal and saved 46 of them for a .868 save percentage.
