BELOIT — The Rock County Fury lost a 3-2 double-overtime thriller to University School of Milwaukee on Jan. 22.

Anna Malone scored the opening goal for the Fury midway through the first period, with Sara Loerke assisting. USM tied it in the second and took a 2-1 lead in the third on a power play goal. That advantage lasted nearly 10 minutes, but Emma Kilgora lit the lamp for the equalizer with just over two minutes to play. Loerke assisted that goal as well.

In the second overtime, USM’s Charlotte Fetherston scored the game-winner with an unassisted goal. It was her third of the game.

The Fury were outshot by USM 45-30. The two teams meet back up Uihlein Ice Arena in River Hills Feb. 2. Up next for Rock County is a home game against Metro Lynx Jan. 27.
