DARLINGTON — Trailing late in the game, eighth-ranked Darlington nearly pulled off a thrilling, last-second win over unranked Lancaster in a nonconference contest Dec. 3. Instead, the Redbirds lost 67-65.
Zeke Zuberbuhler hit a 3-pointer with eight seconds left in the game, making it 66-65. Darlington then fouled, putting Lancaster to the line. The Flying Arrows went 1-for-2, leaving the door open, but Cagyn Paisley’s corner three was off target, resulting in the loss.
BELLEVILLE 52, TURNER 50
BELOIT — The Wildcats walked away with a two-point victory over the Trojans thanks to Bryce Babler’s go-ahead bucket and a stop on defense. Three players finished in double figures, led by Jackson Scholey with 17 points. Adam Cann, who had a team-high seven rebounds, chipped in 16 points, while Evan Thomas scored 12.

MONROE 56
MONROE — The fourth-ranked Viking defense stifled the Cheesemaker offense in a nonconference matchup on Dec. 3. Mount Horeb forced 15 turnovers, recorded 10 steals and scored 20 points off Monroe miscues.
Josh Manchester, a unanimous first-team all-conference selection in the Badger Small last season, was a thorn in the Cheesemakers’ side. The junior scored 25 points, grabbed seven rebounds, recorded seven deflections and stole the ball five times.
On the flip side, three players scored in double figures for Monroe. Logan Taylor led the bunch with 15 points, going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. JJ Meyer put up 13 points with seven of them from the free-throw line, and Marcus Ott chipped in 10.
NEW GLARUS 79, BARNEVELD 63
BARNEVELD — With a 26-point performance from Nolan Julseth, the Knights upended the Eagles in a nonconference contest Dec. 3. The sophomore lit up the floor, draining eight 3-pointers. Clayton Streiff and Charlie Sarbacker also scored in double figures with 18 and 10 points, respectively.
Although Barneveld made 11 threes, the team shot 50% from the free-throw line. Hunter Larson was the leading scorer with 16 points and five 3-pointers.
