DELAVAN — The Delavan-Darien Comets defeated the Monroe Cheesemakers 7-1 in Rock Valley Conference boys soccer on Sept. 25. 

Josue Torres scored the Cheesemakers only goal on a penalty kick. Jaden Leistiko, Reese McIntosh, and Nelson Lux Garcia each got a shot on goal for the Cheesemakers. Barrett Brandli had 14 saves plus a penalty kick save for Monroe.

The Cheesemakers (5-5-1, 2-1) hosted Whitewater in Rock Valley Conference soccer on Tue. Sept. 30.

Sugar River suffers first Capitol South loss in 5 years

LAKE MILLS — The Raiders’ string of perfect seasons on the pitch in the Capitol Conference has ended at nearly five straight. Lake Mills knocked off Sugar River 1-0 on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Sugar River’s last loss in conference play came on April 6, 2021 during the COVID-19 “Alt-Fall” delayed and shortened season to Wisconsin Heights. The Raiders won their first two league games this year, putting the run at 37-straight games. Sugar River returns to action Sept. 28 against Lakeside Lutheran.
