MONROE — Despite allowing no goals in the second half, Monroe fell to Big Foot-Williams Bay 4-1 in a Rock Valley Conference game on Thursday, April 11. Addison Bartholf was responsible for the lone Cheesemaker goal.

Big Foot-Williams Bay got on the board in the 11th minute with a goal from Jackie Rambatt, who eventually finished the game with a hat trick. Monroe keeper Kaelyn Welch came out of the net and tipped the shot, but it still found its way to the back of the net.

In the 26th minute, the Cheiftains attempted a shot on net that bounced off Lilah Bauer’s chest and onto the foot of Rambatt. She snuck the ball passed a diving Welch into the bottom right corner of the net.

Just two minutes later, Big Foot-Williams Bay scored again. Two Cheesemaker defenders flocked Rambatt near the goal, but, from the ground, she passed to Mya Gonzalez. Her shot was tipped by Welch, but it had just enough on it to sneak over the line before Monroe kicked it out of the goal.

With the first half winding down, Rambatt completed her hat trick. Gonzalez put a shot on goal from just outside that box that Welch went to her knees to block. The rebound landed right on the foot of Rambatt, who punched it into the bottom left corner for a 4-0 lead.

The score held through much of the second half before Bartholf’s goal ensured her team wouldn’t be shut out. In the 37th minute, she put a shot on goal that had just enough spin off Bianca Mondragon’s tip to roll into the net.

Despite the loss, Monroe showed improvement since its last meeting with Big Foot-Williams Bay in 2023, where the Cheesemakers fell 6-2.
