Cuba City hosted the Christopher Becker Memorial track meet on May 1 with a total of 14 teams competing. Prairie du Chien won the boys meet with 139 points. Darlington was fifth with 47 points. Argyle-Pecatonica finished sixth with 36 points. In 10th place was Albany with 24 points. 11th was Black Hawk with 14 points and in 12th place was Monticello with 13 points.
In the 400 meter dash, senior Isaac Crist of Darlington finished in second place with a time of 52.75 seconds. The boys 110 meter hurdles saw senior Danick Haesler of Darlington take third place in 16.11 seconds. Haesler also was the third place finisher in the 300 meter hurdles. The Darlington Redbirds got a second-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay as the team of Isaac Crist, sophomore Marcus Kendall, sophomore Mason Wiegel, and junior Kane McDermott raced through the relay in 3:36.99.
Argyle-Pec got a third-place finish from their 4x800 meter relay team with junior Grant Kuberski, senior Garrett Phillipson, freshman Ayden Slater, and junior Eli Harris getting a time of 9:11.76. In field events, sophomore Artemio Rico of Darlington took first place in the high jump, clearing the bar at five feet, six inches. In the discus, senior James Holland was the third place finisher with a throw of 137 feet, one inch.
The girls final results had Prairie du Chien take first place with 101 points. Argyle-Pecatonica was 7th with 48 points. Black Hawk placed 9th with 39 points. Darlington was 11th with 32 points. 12th place went to Albany with 28 points and Monticello was 14th with six points.
In the girls 1600 meter run, Darlington sophomore Brianna Vazquez ran to a second place finish in 5:38.85. Argyle-Pecatonica junior Loretta Tisch placed in just about every event she competed in. She captured third place in the 100 meter hurdles in 17.51 seconds. Tisch also took third place in the 300 meter hurdles in 50.82 seconds. Tisch placed fourth in the girls triple jump with a jump of 31 feet, 11.5 inches. Second place in the 4x200 meter relay went to the Black Warriors relay team of sophomore Maddy Place, sophomore Emily Curran, freshman Makayla Curran, and junior Mya Milz in 1:53.76. Senior Lillyana Morales of Albany placed in two field events. She took fourth place in the shot put with a throw of 33 feet, two inches. Morales was also third in the discus throw with a toss of 105 feet.
