MONROE — The Monroe boys tennis team concluded its home portion of the Rock Valley Conference schedule, splitting results with Whitewater and Edgerton on May 6 and 7. The Cheesemakers defeated the Whippets 6-1 but fell to the Crimson Tide 5-2 for the second time in four days. Monroe recently saw Edgerton in a triangular on May 4.

“We dropped our second Rock Valley loss against a tough Edgerton squad,” Monroe head coach Matt Bordner said. “We saw them Saturday and also lost 5-2, but this 5-2 loss was definitely closer. Carsen played a much better match, and Brandon’s was competitive once again. I think that our No. 2 doubles had a really slow start before coming on late, and No. 3 doubles played a better match this time around as well.”

Monroe played Jefferson on May 9 to finish the regular season. The team has one nonconference match against Mukwonago before the RVC tournament in Whitewater on May 16.
