MONROE — The Monroe Cheesemakers finished as the top school in sports in the Rock Valley Conference, Valley Division for the 2024-25 school year.

According to data shared by Monroe Athletic Director Eric Jubeck, points are accumulated based on each school’s finish within a sport. The higher a team places in the conference, the more points are accumulated. For example, in an eight-team sport, finishing in first place scores a team eight points. Second place would get seven points, and so on in descending order. The Cheesemakers accumulated 107.5 points in 16 sports, setting their average at 6.72 points, the best in the Rock Valley Conference Valley Division and earning the Rock Valley Conference All-Sports trophy. It is the second year in a row Monroe has won the trophy.

Where the Cheesemakers scored their most points with first-place finishes (good for eight points) were football, boys basketball, boys wrestling, boys golf, softball, boys track and field, girls track and field, boys cross country, and girls cross country.

“It shows the depth of our programs as well as the continued success and dedication of our athletes and coaches,” said Jubeck.

Brodhead won the Rock Division, scoring 75 points in 12 sports for an average of 6.25 per sport.

One of the Cheesemakers’ most dominant sport in the Rock has been football, where Monroe has not lost a game in any of the five seasons since moving to the conference. However, the 2025 football season will be the last for Monroe in the Rock Valley. The Cheesemakers move back to the Badger Conference in the Small Division for 2026.
