Cheesemakers cruise by Blue Devils, 14-4

MONROE — In its best offensive performance of the season, Monroe 10-run ruled Evansville 14-4 in a Rock Valley Conference crossover game on Monday, April 15. The Cheesemakers pounded out 16 hits and committed just one error.

Ethan Rosenstiel led the way, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a triple and two RBIs. Ashton Hale, Keegan Dahmen, Cole Meighan, Cam Newcomer and Owen Gilbertson also recorded multiple-hit games.

Rosenstiel also got the win, giving five innings of work. He allowed three earned runs on four hits, struck out six and walked four. Ian Berg pitched one inning of one-hit relief.


BRODHEAD-JUDA 4, BIG FOOT 0;

BRODHEAD-JUDA 5, BIG FOOT 3

WALWORTH — With a doubleheader sweep of Big Foot on Wednesday, April 17, Brodhead-Juda joined Tuner and Big Foot with two wins in the Rock Valley-Rock Conference.

In Game 1, the Cardinals outhit the Chiefs just 5-4 but came up with timely hits to seal the win. Evan Senobe, David Masloske and Clayton Elliott tallied one hit and one RBI each. Although Gabe Bockhop didn’t record a hit, he reached base three times via walk.

Kohen Sawle earned the shut-out win, allowing four hits. He struck out six and walked three.

In Game 2, Brodhead-Juda scored one run in each of the first five innings en route to the win. Senobe and Elliott accounted for four of the team’s six hits. The top four batters in the lineup — Senobe, Bockhop, Masloske and Ryan Searls — drew two walks each.

Elliott picked up the win, throwing 1 1/3 innings of hitless ball. He struck out two and walked two.
