JANESVILLE — Cap City proved just how hard it is to beat a team three times in one season, as the Cougars upset the Fury in overtime, 2-1, in a WIAA girls hockey sectional semifinal on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Rock County had previously defeated Cap City 2-1 twice this season.

Emma Kligora scored in the first period with an assist from Macy Murphy. Caroline Cutrano tied the game in the second, assted by Teegan Davis. Neither team scored in the third, sending the game into overtime. Just 59 seconds in, Brynn Brinkmeier gave the Cougars the win.

Rock County outshot Cap City 30-21. Jillian Traver made 19 saves, still suffering the loss.
