ALBANY — Brodhead knocked off Albany 83-41 in the season-opener for both teams in a nonconference bout Nov. 30.
The Cardinals used a late push in the first half to pull away from the young Comets, then exploded in the second half to easily secure the win.
Brodhead’s Josiah Engen sparked his teammates with thunderous slam dunks in the first half, including a two-handed slam in transition that earned a technical foul.
Engen finished with 11, Connor Green 12, Cody Malcook 10 and Owen Leifker 15 for Brodhead. Albany’s Clay Hulbert had 11 points and Luke Johnson scored 10.
