Brodhead-Juda falls to Poynette 24-22

POYNETTE — The Cardinals scored two technical falls but lost in the other three matches that were wrestled against Poynette Jan. 8. Brodhead-Juda lost the dual 24-22.

Each team allowed 12 points to the other via forfeit, and five other weight classes were counted as double-forfeits.

Brian McCollough defeated Poynette’s Owen Bahr by tech fall at the 4:00 mark with the score 16-1 in the 145-pound match. At 160, Brodhead-Juda’s Cole Hoesly defeated Kyle Attoe 15-0 in just 3:33.

Poynette won the other three wrestled matches. At 120, Cash Stewart defeated Russell Waeffler 7-0. Blake Shallow topped Jayson Starr in the 138-pound match 7-3, and Justin Taylor pinned Blaine Berget in 76 seconds in the 170-pound bout.
