MADISON — The WIAA has released the brackets for the Girls State Tennis Tournament Thursday through Saturday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison. In Division 2 doubles, senior Layla Pallesen and senior Rylee Svendsen (19-6) will meet senior Lucy Day and senior Elyse McCaffrey (23-2) of Altoona on Thursday at approximately 7 p.m. 

If Pallesen and Svendsen win, they will advance to meet sophomore Ava Miller and sophomore Parker Van Dusen (20-2) of Kenosha St. Joseph on Friday at 12:30 p.m. Pallesen and Svendsen are the first girls from the Monroe tennis team to reach the State Tournament since Jensen Christiansen and Grace Tostrud captured second place in 2019. 

Consolation semifinals will begin Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and Championship semifinals will begin Saturday at 9 a.m.
