SOUTH WAYNE — After a Week 1 loss to Southwestern-East Dubuque, Black Hawk-Warren shut out Big Foot 52-0 Aug. 30. The Warriors, ranked No. 10 in Division 7 per the latest WisSports.net Coaches Poll, held the Division 4 Chieftains to just two first downs and -6 total yards.

“I was really proud of how the guys played last night and responded to last week’s loss,” Black Hawk-Warren head coach Desie Breadon said. “They looked like the team they have the potential to be.”

All scores came on the ground, led by Owen Seffrood and Piercen Mahoney, who combined for 25 carries, 370 yards and six touchdowns. Beau Podnar had the third touchdown and finished with 16 yards on three carries.

PARKVIEW-ALBANY 55, DOMINICAN 24

WHITEFISH BAY — Parkview-Albany’s Aiden Crane was a force to be reckoned with in his team’s Week 2 win over Dominican on Aug. 30. The quarterback had 222 passing yards with two touchdowns and another 65 yards on the ground with two touchdowns.

Defensively, Leon Parker and Mike Williams were key factors in limiting the Knights’ run game to just 61 yards. They combined for all three sacks and nine tackles.

The Vikings were winless in 2023 and scored a grand total of 24 points — less than half of their Week 2 total in 2024.

PECATONICA-ARGYLE 36, WATERLOO 20

BLANCHARDVILLE — After giving up the opening score, the Vikings scored 28 points in the first half to effectively seal a Week 2 win over Waterloo on Aug. 30.

Pecatonica-Argyle scored three times in the last six minutes of the first quarter, as quarterback Martin Anderson targeted three different receivers — Mason McNett, Jeremiah Collins and Ike Waage. Mason McNett tallied the other two scores on the ground.

Defensively, Ashton McNett stifled any momentum the Pirates hoped to gain with two interceptions.

EVANSVILLE 21, BRODHEAD-JUDA 19

BRODHEAD — The Cardinals failed to convert a 2-point pass at the end of the third quarter that would have tied the game at 21, and it proved to be the difference in a Week 2 nonconference game against the Blue Devils. Between the two teams, 34 of the 40 points were scored in the second quarter.

Brodhead-Juda did its damage in the air, as Gabe Bockhop targeted three different receivers for touchdowns — David Masloske, Jayden Brown and Erik Woodward.
