SOUTH WAYNE — Black Hawk-Warren proved why they are the No. 4 team in Division 7 with a 62-0 shutout of Pecatonica-Argyle on Saturday, Oct. 5.
“Our defensive secondary had a great game and has made some really good improvements the last couple of weeks,” BHW head coach Desie Breadon said. “We knew Pec-Argyle has a really good passing game and are dangerous through the air, so we had to communicate and have good technique.”
The Warrior defense had three interceptions, and all three ensuing possessions led to touchdowns.
Owen Seffrood had another impressive game, rushing for 126 yards on 18 carries with three TDs. He also had a 2-pt pass and punt returned for a score. The Warriors were 7-for-8 on 2-pt conversions.
Pecatonica-Argyle (3-4, 2-3) compiled 45 yards of offense with 34 in the air and 11 on the ground. The Vikings’ postseason hopes are still alive — but they would have to defeat top-ranked Potosi-Cassville (5-0) and River Ridge (3-2).
