SOUTH WAYNE — The Black Hawk-Warren football team raised $1,500 for two different causes this season.

“The Black Hawk-Warren football program continued to follow in Coach Golembiewski’s footsteps in making donations to help other people,” head coach Desie Breadon said.

During a Miracle Minute between the third and fourth quarters of its Pink Out game against Riverdale on Oct. 11, BHW gathered $1,000 from the community. That money went to UW Kids Cancer Fund.

The football program also raised $500 on its own, which they donated to the UW Cardiovascular Research Center.
