BELLEVILLE — Belleville’s Maddi DeSmet represented the South Team in the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-Star basketball game at Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells on Wednesday June 25.

DeSmet scored five points in the South’s 77-51 win over the North. As a senior, the 5 foot-11 DeSmet averaged 14.3 points per game for the Belleville Wildcats and started all 27 games for Belleville, who went 21-6 and won the Capitol Conference South Division title this past season.

DeSmet will continue her basketball playing career next season at Madison College. Part of the participation process for players is fundraising efforts for various charities. Maddi raised just over $1900 for the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) as well as Hometown Heros and the Ronald McDonald House.
