ARGYLE — The Orioles swept Juda Sept. 21, 25-22, 25-12, 25-17.

“I thought that we played really well. We were missing Megan (Johnson), our setter, and the girls did a good job with the rotation that we put together,” Argyle coach Connie Wunschel said. “It took them a little bit to get it figured out, but they got it figured out and they did a great job with it. There were a few snags — which there always will be — but overall, they did a good job of taking care of it and getting it done. The ball was moved around and everyone was getting their time in and making good plays with the ball.”

Argyle’s Maggie Godfrey finished the night with 20 digs, seven kills and a block. Tori Lantz added seven kills with a block, while Grace Ganshert had 14 digs, nine aces and six kills. Breanna Flannery dished out 19 assists and finished with eight aces.

“Breann and Grace did a great job with serving,” Wunschel said. “In Game 2, Grace had eight aces. She served us from 5 through 20 to take over that game. She did a phenomenal job, and her aces were the big story in that game.”

In the third game, Flannery opened at the service line and tallied five aces in her first seven serves. She later served another five critical points down the stretch “to keep Juda at bay a little bit,” Wunschel said.

For Juda, Josie Simpson and Ciarrah Davis had two aces each. Libby Jordan tallied 10 kills. Jackie Nusbaum finished with 12 assists. Jerzie Lerch added two blocks, and Morgan Schneeberger chipped in with 31 digs.
