BOYS DIVISION 2

Richland Center Sectional

Sugar River came in seventh place with 111.5 points. The Raiders had one state qualifier; Madox Mau, who won the championship at 106 pounds.

Monroe had a 12th place finish with 64 points and senior Connor Eckdhal placed fourth at 157 pounds, Patrick Harms fifth at 190, Joah Wellman fifth at 215, Noah Schuh sixth at 126, Weston Huntsman seventh at 138, and Alex Anastacio eighth at 235, but the Cheesemakers did not have a state qualifier bringing their boys wrestling season to a close.

Brodhead-Juda finished in 16th place with 20.5 points and Thomas Lohmar wrestled and won his third place match at 120 pounds, but the Cardinals did not have a state qualifier.


BOYS DIVISION 3

Waterloo Sectional

Mineral Point ruled the sectional with 253.5 points and Pecatonica-Argyle placed third with 146 points. The Vikings will be sending three wrestlers to state. Pecatonica-Argyle advanced freshman Layton Gruenenfelder at 113 pounds, freshman Charlie Krebs at 120 pounds, and senior Lukas Orloff at 132 pounds.

Darlington placed fifth and had three state qualifiers; junior Calum Crist who took first at 190 pounds, freshman Maximo Xolo first at 175 pounds, and junior Gage Ruf second at 215 pounds.

Black Hawk-Shullsburg-Warren came in 10th place and had one state qualifier; sophomore Evan Sigafus won his second place match over junior Owen Maly of Clinton with a technical fall at 4:06.

Parkview-Albany had an 11th place finish with 71.5 points, but also had two state qualifiers; Tavin Bomkamp at 150 pounds and Elija Gunn at 165 pounds. Both placed second and will compete in the state tournament.

The Team Sectionals will be wrestled Saturday, Feb. 20. The State Wrestling Tournament will be Feb. 26-28 at the Kohl Center in Madison.


GIRLS REGIONALS

Brodhead-Juda finished in second place with 167 points at the Evansville regional and advanced six sectional qualifiers. They are; freshman Hayden Lewis at 120 pounds, freshman Ashlyn Cayetano Pueblita at 132 pounds, sophomore Olivia Brooks at 138 pounds, senior Serena Santiago at 145 pounds, sophomore HaLinda Reasa at 152 pounds, and junior Lily Scheidegger at 165 pounds.

Monroe was fourth with 90 points and advanced three wrestlers; freshman Evelyn Eckdhal at 126 pounds, junior Althea Eckdhal at 145 pounds, and freshman Addi Treuthardt at 152 pounds.

Parkview-Albany came in sixth place and had one sectional qualifier; junior Serenity Paustch was second at 126 pounds.

Black Hawk/Shullsburg/Warren finished in seventh place and had one sectional qualifier; Emma Hocking, who finished second at 132 pounds.

Sugar River landed in ninth place and qualified one wrestler; Nora Christensen at 235 pounds.

At the Mineral Point regional, Darlington finished in sixth place with 30 points and had one sectional qualifier; senior Kaylee Russell at 145 pounds.

Pecatonica-Argyle placed seventh with 24 points. They will have one wrestler advancing to the sectional; freshman Maddie Meddaugh at 120 pounds.

The girls wrestling sectionals will take place on Saturday, Feb. 20 at Mineral Point with the qualifiers from the Evansville and Mineral Point regionals.
