Leu captures 285 title

Monroe's Lucas Leu pins Oregon's Paul Hockett in the heavyweight semifinal at the Badger Conference tournament on Saturday. Leu won the title for heavyweights.
OREGON - Monroe's heavyweight, senior Lucas Leu, took first place at the 13-team Badger Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Leu pinned over Baraboo's Jordan Mukite in 3 minutes, 44 seconds to capture the conference title.

On his way to victory, Leu pinned Madison Edgewood-Monona Grove heavyweight Riley Quaerna (1:42) and Oregon's Paul Hockett (2:37).

The rest of the Cheesemakers didn't fare so well.

Gavin Wels (112) was injured in three matches to finish sixth. Steven Steiner (152) and Dillon Weckerly (171) also finished sixth.

Michael Ingold (189), Cory Kundert (215) and Dylan Schwitz (135) each took seventh place.

Monroe finished in ninth place with 113.5 points. Stougton won the meet with 298 points.
