MONROE - A trio of Monroe volleyball players were recently named Badger South All-Conference.
Monroe senior outside hitter Alicia Kuester was named second-team all-conference. It's the second straight year Kuester has received all-conference honors: She was named honorable mention all-conference as a middle hitter last year.
Senior teammate Lexi Hilliard and junior Sydney Mathiason were each named as honorable mention all-conference selections. It also marks Mathiason's second year being named honorable mention all-conference.
Monona Grove, the Badger South Conference champions, had three first-team all-conference players.
Monroe finished the season 15-16. The Cheesemakers edged Oregon in five sets to snap a 21-match conference losing streak that dated back to 2012. The Cheesemakers took River Valley to five sets before losing a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal match.
