NEW GLARUS - Attacking at the net played a vital role in the New Glarus volleyball team's sweep of Belleville Tuesday night.
New Glarus (6-6, 3-1 Capitol South) defeated the Wildcats 25-19, 26-24, 25-18.
New Glarus coach Casey Boatman said the net play was the difference for the Glarner Knights.
"Our middles blocked well," Boatman said. "We really played good defense."
Karina Moen racked up 10 kills and had two aces. Senior Alaina Legler had 28 assists and Ashley Gould had five blocks.
Argyle 3, Pec 2
BLANCHARDVILLE - After winning two of the first three sets, Pecatonica was on the brink of winning its fourth conference match.
That changed as Argyle came back and knocked off the Vikings 20-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-14, 15-13.
"We just allowed too many opportunities," Pecatonica coach Cher Schliem said. "At times, we let the momentum slip and didn't recover well. I definitely don't think we were quick enough at times, and offensively we were too cautious."
With the loss, Pecatonica drops to 4-6, 3-2 Six Rivers East.
Argyle's Jenna Langmeier had a team-high seven kills, 23 digs and three aces. Senior Kayla Ostby had 21 assists and junior Jessica Treuthardt added two blocks.
