WHITEWHATER - University of Wisconsin-Whitewater senior Aron Kehoe, who is a Monroe alum, was recently named co-recipient of the Max Sparger Men's Scholar-Athlete Award for indoor track and field.
Kehoe has a cumulative GPA of 3.457 and is majoring in special education. He is on the Dean's list, the NCAA Division III All-Academic team in 2009 and 2010.
He was the Division III Indoor national champion in the 800m in 2010, a two-time All-American for track and field, the UW-W record holder for the 600-meters, 800-meters, 1000-meters and 3,200 relay. Kehoe has qualified eight times for national championships (six for track and field, twice for cross country) and was team captain for indoor track and field this year.
He has been a weekly volunteer catechist at St. Patrick's in Whitewater for 2010-11 and has volunteered at Whitewater Middle School.
