MONROE - Ronin Karate will host a karate tournament March 22 in Monroe.
Five karate and taekwondo clubs have been invited to participate including Monroe Martial Arts, Elite Taekwondo of Monroe and Progressive Sighting Concepts and Kahjok Taekwondo of Freeport. Registration the day of the tournament March 22 is at 8 a.m. at the Behring Senior Center and the tournament is slated to start at 9 a.m.
The karate tournament is open for anyone to compete. They don't have to be a member of a club. Registration to compete in the tournament is $25 by March 20. After March 20 and at the door it's a $30 fee to enter for competitors. Admission is free for the public to attend to watch the tournament.
Competition during the karate tournament will include forms and sparring.
