MONROE - Over 50 participants took part in the seventh annual Just Tri Youth Triathlon at the Green County Family YMCA July 24.
There were 16 individual categories and three team categories separated by age and gender.
Triathlons include three portions, swimming, biking and running.
Participants between the ages of 6 to 10 swim 100 meters, bike two miles and run .85 miles. Those in the 11- to 14-year-old age group swim 200 meters, bike 5.7 miles and run 1.1 miles. The eldest group, with participants ages 15 to 17, swims 300 meters, bikes 5.7 miles and 1.7 mile run.
Alyssa Knauf, 7, won the girl's 6- to 7-year-old age group with a time of 25 minutes, 30 seconds.
Haley Knauf finished one spot ahead of Jayda Bessel for first place in the girl's 8-year-old age group with a time of 22:22.
Julia Keegan held off Grace Mathiason for the title in the girl's 9-year-old division, finishing with a time of 27:19.
Amya Bessel finished with a time of 21:47, one place ahead of Erin Nyhus in the girl's 10-year-old bracket.
Sydney Mathiason edged Margaret Pluta in the girl's 11-year-old division with a time of 43:25.
Katie Flory (38:22) won the girl's 12-year-old age group, topping Cheyenne Brady by nearly a minute.
Anna Nowicki finished ahead of Emma Nowicki in the girl's 13-year-old age group with a time of 39:38.
Cherrelle Phon, 17, won the girl's 15- to 17-year-old division with a time of 43:44, one spot ahead of Madison Skalsky, 16.
On the boys side, Christopher Andraski, 7, finished ahead of Brycen Shumacher, 7, in the 6- to 7-year-old division with a time of 24:30.
Eric Sylvester won the 8-year-old group with a time of 23:52 and Bergen Frank-Loron (23:34) finished first in the 9-year-old bracket.
Jadon Shuhmacher took the top spot in the 10-year-old division with a time of 23:10. Jonathan Hayes (24:24) took second.
Elijah Skalsky won the 11-year-old bracket with a time of 31:40. Cecil Lingard (34:17) was second.
Jeffrey Guilliams won the 12-year-old group (36:05) with Alex O'Brien (41:22) finishing second.
Sam Skalsky (31:17) and Benjamin Pluta (34:38) were the top finishers in the 13-year-old division, and Nathan Schuetz (38:08) and Dakota Phillips (43:09) capped off the 15- to 17-year-old age group.
In the 7- to 10-year-old coed relay, The Dominators took first with a mark of 22:49. The Blondes (31:18) won the 11- to 14-year-old team girls race and the Crazy Cousins (35:03) won the boys race.
