Juda fends off Monticello

MONTICELLO - Juda held off Monticello Thursday in four sets, 25-22, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16.

MacKenzie Byrne led the Panthers with 34 assists and 14 digs, while teammate Erika Duecker had 11 kills and Hannah Powers added three aces.

For the Ponies, Abby Wicker had eight kills and six blocks, and Alyssen Noriega added 31 digs and three aces. Miah Brokopp notched 19 assists for Monticello, teammate Lindsey Pence dished out 18 of her own, Hannah Zanow smashed 15 kills and Alaya Hummel added six kills.

Monticello (2-7, 1-4 Six Rivers East) travels to Pecatonica on Tuesday, while Juda (7-6, 3-2) plays Argyle on the road.



Pecatonica 3, Albany 1

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Vikings picked up their first conference win of the season with a tight victory over the Comets Thursday, 25-23, 26-24, 23-25, 25-13.

Pecatonica senior Taetum Pagel finished the night with 13 kills, 12 digs, 20 assists and six aces. Grace Keast led the Vikings with 15 kills.

The Vikings (2-5, 1-4 Six Rivers East) look host Monticello Tuesday, while Albany travels to Black Hawk.



Argyle 3, Barneveld 1

ARGYLE - The Orioles struggled in the third set to the Eagles, but righted the ship in the fourth, winning the match 25-20, 25-21, 11-25, 25-16.

Jena Saalsaa had 10 kills, 11 digs and six blocks for Argyle (8-2, 5-0 Six Rivers East). Jadyn Saalsaa added four kills and six aces for the Orioles, while teammate Kirsten Ostby notched 19 assists and Morgan Nelson had 12 digs.

Argyle will play in the Benton tournament on Saturday.



Darlington 3, Boscobel 0

DARLINGTON - The Redbirds dominated Boscobel on Thursday, winning in three sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-6.

Kennedy Rankin had nine kills for Darlington and Casey Glendenning added six. Kathleen Mathias led the way at the service line with five aces, Roxi Reuter had nine assists and Gabriel Steiner added seven assists.

Darlington (10-5 overall, 4-1 SWAL) hosts Southwestern on Tuesday.



Brodhead 3, Clinton 0

BRODHEAD - The Cardinals swept Clinton in straight sets Thursday, 25-16, 25-14, 25-23.

Abbey Johnson had 19 kills, 20 assists and nine digs for Brodhead, while teammate Chandra Clark added 10 kills, 18 assists and five digs.

As a team, the Cardinals' had an 89 percent serving percentage. Brodhead is now 12-4 overall on the season, and next plays Tuesday in Jefferson.



Wisconsin Heights 3, New Glarus 0

NEW GLARUS - Senior Willow Lee had a team-high five kills and five digs, but Wisconsin Heights swept a Capitol South Conference match from the Glarner Knights, 25-10, 25-17, 25-15.

With the loss, New Glarus drops to 0-15 overall and 0-5 in the Capitol South.

New Glarus senior Riley Parker had six assists and senior Julia Barnaby posted two blocks. Senior Olivia Xistris had a team-best seven digs.
