JUDA - Senior Jessica Crull and junior Sara Jordan hit back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning to spark Juda-Albany to an 11-1 six-inning win over Black Hawk in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal on Wednesday.
Juda-Albany (21-5) advances and will host Highland in a regional championship game Friday. The Panthers pounded out 15 hits and had five players with multi-hit games.
"The last couple of weeks we have been hitting the ball really well," Juda-Albany coach Bill Davis said. "Up and down the lineup there are no really weak spots. It makes you a much more effective team."
Crull hit a two-run home run in the fourth, and Jordan followed with a solo home run to help the Panthers take a 9-1 lead.
"It was a pretty good inning, and we did most of the damage with two outs," Davis said.
Juda-Albany junior Sayde McDermott and junior Chelsea Burkhalter each went 3-for-4. Sophomore Nicki Becker finished 2-for-3. Both junior Alexis Goecks and sophomore Hailey Kammerer were 2-for-4.
Becker pitched a complete game to get the win. She gave up two runs on two hits. Becker struck out seven and didn't issue a walk.
Black Hawk's Sam Lovelace went 1-for-2, and senior Brooke Moore was 1-for-3.
Black Hawk senior pitcher Rachel Ritschard gave up nine earned runs on 15 hits. She struck out four and didn't issue a walk.
In the other area Division 4 regional semifinal game, Belmont defeated Argyle 8-0.
