WAUKESHA - Ninth-seeded Juda swept its 8-9 matchup against University Lake in the WIAA Division 4 volleyball regional quarterfinals Tuesday, 25-13, 25-23, 25-9.

"We really hustled to the ball and defended well," Juda coach Scott Anderson said. "I don't have the exact stats in front of me, but we had something like 75 digs in just three sets."

Maddie Roth and MacKenzie Byrne each had 18 digs for the Panthers, who now get a rendezvous with top-seeded Randolph. Hailey Kammerer had nine kills and seven aces, Erika Duecker slammed 10 kills of her own and Zoe Rathsack finished with three blocks. Byrne dished out 19 assists and Montana Steinmann added 10 assists of her own.

"We did a nice job of covering their (University Lake's) angels. We dug a lot, and that's what we'll have to do," Anderson said.

In the second set the Panthers trailed at one point, only to rally and go up two sets to none. The third set was simply Juda capitalizing on opportunities.

"We have to play our game. Randolph won't be easy," Anderson said.
