NEW GLARUS - A 14-year-old-girl from Caledonia, Illinois, won the second annual New Glarus EMS 5K run/walk Saturday morning.
Gianna Sagona finished the 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 12 seconds.
The top male finisher was Tim Ballard, who finished in 23:19.
Dave Wyttenbach of New Glarus was the second male finisher in 23:48. New Glarus' Corey Pope was third in 24:50.
New Glarus's Rachel Falsey was the second female finisher in 26:54, and Shari Rampenthal of Monroe was third in 27:04.
Eight-year-old Dylan Baker of New Glarus won the kids 1-mile race in 9:22, edging 10-year-old Allison Baker, who finished in 9:25.
Proceeds from the event will help pay for uniforms, building and ambulance maintenance, and EMS member training.
