LAWRENCE - Monroe senior Jordan Hirsbrunner won two more medals at the Kansas Relays on Saturday.
Hirsbrunner finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles Saturday at the Kansas Relays with a time of 15.25 seconds and took ninth in the high jump with 5 feet, 2 inches. Hirsbrunner's time in the 100 hurdles is just .01 seconds away from tying Jaclyn Ditter's school record.
Hirsbrunner, who is a University of Wisconsin-Madison track and field recruit, has the fastest Division 2 time in the state in the 100 hurdles. She won the 300 hurdles on Friday at the Kansas Relays with a finish that's 0.13 seconds away from the Division 2 state record. She has the eighth-fastest time in the 300 hurdles in the history of Wisconsin track and ranks 46th nationally.
"I was hoping Jordan would be competitive at this meet and she did not let us down," Monroe girls track coach Matt Davis said. "I'm very impressed she won the 300 hurdles, but I'm also really impressed with how well she ran the 100 hurdles. That is her current PR and she could do quite well in both events at the end of the year."
Hirsbrunner has now won nine total medals at the Kansas Relays in her career.
Hirsbrunner has also now set or tied six school records, including the 300 hurdles, 55 hurdles, 800 relay, 1,600 relay, indoor high jump and indoor 200.
Hirsbrunner is the first MHS girl to ever medal in four events at the state meet which she did last year.
