MONROE - Monroe High School athlete Jordan Hirsbrunner was named first-team all-state in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles by the Wisconsin Track Coaches Association recently.

Hirsbrunner capped her junior season by winning a WIAA Division 2 state championship in the 300 hurdles in 43.94 seconds.

"She earned this with her state champion performance," Monroe girls track coach Matt Davis said.

The all-state honors are based on the top six times for each event in the state and Hirsbrunner had the fastest time in the state.

"This is a very prestigious honor," Davis said. "Only six people in the state get it. It's even more impressive that Jordan was first in the state, making her a first-team unanimous selection. I don't think we've ever had a female track athlete in Monroe ever get this award. Jordan worked very hard this season to be the best, and this is the icing on the cake for her. I'm very proud and happy for her. She deserved this."

Hirsbrunner has the ninth fastest time ever in the 300 hurdles in Wisconsin. She broke her school record in the 300 hurdles five times this year and was unbeaten in the 300 hurdles this season.

She broke the Badger South Conference meet record, the Glendenning Invitational record, the Fort Atkinson Invitational record and the Edgerton Tider Invitational record in the 300 hurdles.
