Hendrickson named player of year

MONROE - For the second straight year, Pecatonica senior A.J. Hendrickson was named the Six Rivers East Conference Player of the Year.

Hendrickson, who averaged 23.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, was named first-team all-conference and helped the Vikings advance to a WIAA Division 5 sectional semifinal where they lost to eventual state champion Barneveld 45-44 on March 9.

The other first-team all-conference players were Black Hawk sophomore Conner Meyer, Juda senior Matt Schmitt, Barneveld senior Matthew Myers and Barneveld senior Mike Zouski.

Black Hawk had two second-team all-conference players in senior Josh Meier and junior C.J. Leuzinger. The other second-team selections were Argyle senior Collin Argue, Juda junior Keagen Haffele and Pecatonica sophomore Colton Schraepfer.

The Vikings had two players who received honorable mention on the all-conference team, seniors Logan Green and Kole Kent. The two Monticello players recognized as honorable mention were senior Zach Price and junior Jon Errthum. The other local players who received honorable mention were Albany senior Brock Gilkes, Albany senior Connor Trow, Argyle junior Brent Ritschard, Juda senior Skyler Stuckey and Argyle senior Mitch Dammen.

The conference's coach of the year was Barneveld's Jim Myers. Barneveld was the conference champion posting a 11-1 mark.
