RICHLAND CENTER - Darlington senior Colton Hackett continued a stellar wrestling season by winning a conference championship at 189 pounds Saturday.
Mineral Point, ranked No. 4 in the Wisconsin Wrestling Online Division 3 poll, won the SWAL-SWC Clash, racking up 280.5 points, which was well ahead of runner-up Iowa-Grant (224.5).
Darlington finished ninth (124) out of 13 schools.
After a first-round bye, Hackett pinned Mineral Point's Dakota Hughes in a 1 minute, 21 seconds. He edged Richland Center's Nick Martin 7-6 in the semifinals. In the championship match, he defeated Fennimore's Everett Schwer 6-3.
Darlington junior Bo Brunkow (119) finished 2-2 and took fourth. Senior Brandon Heins (215) finished 3-1 and had three pins en route to a fifth-place finish.
