Green County Gems flip through two meets

MONROE - Ten Green Country Gems gymnasts medaled at the "Stars of the Future" invitational Feb. 27.

Jenny Knox, a 17-year-old Level 7 gymnast, took second in the all-around in her division with a score of 32.35, taking top honors in the beam (8.4) and floor (9.15). Chandra McGuire, 14, a Level 7 gymnast, finished third in her division (34.05), taking second on the vault (9.05) and third in the bars (7.4) and beam (8.5).

Maria Eberle, 16, at Level 8, didn't place in the all-around (32.9), but took first on the floor (8.9) and third in the vault (8.45).

Josie Eberle, 11, at Level 7, took first place on bars (8.2) but did not place in the all-around.

Prep-op gymnast Tre Voegeli, 13, took second (35.55), including a second-place beam (9.0) and third-place vault (8.55). Sadie Swenson, 14, took first in the floor in her prep-op with a score of 9.25. Veronica Andraski, 16, finished first on the beam (9.2) and the floor (9.25), and had a third-place all-around (35.2) as a prep-op.

Lexus Trickel, 11, took first in her division in the all-around (36.25), notch three second-place finishes (bars, 9.0; beam 8.85; and floor, 9.2) and a third (vault, 9.2). Jordan Hirsbrunner, 11, tied for second on the bars (9.0) and was second on the vault (9.35), resulting in a third-place finish in the all-around (35.9). Baylie Engels, another 11-year-old, finished third on the beam (8.65).

Casey Rielly, 10, took first on the bars (9.25) and second in the all-around (35.7). Meredith Hose was first in the beam (9.05) and vault (9.2) but finished third in the all-around (35.45).

Rhianna Teubuert, 9, was first in her division in the all-around (36.25), including three first-place finishes (bars, 8.9; beam 9.45; and floor, 9.6) and second place on the vault (8.3). Madeline Kuckuk, 10, used a second-place finish in the beam (9.15) to propel herself to third in the all-around (34.85).

Alicia Kuester, 11, finished first in the beam (9.25) and third in the bars (8.75) and vault (8.7). Lindsay Egger, 11, was first on the bars (8.9).

Heather Burkhalter, 8, had a second-place finish on the bars (8.85) and a fourth-place finish on the vault (8.3). Jensen Christensen, 8, was fourth in both the bars (8.6) and floor (9.2) and fifth on the beam (9.0). Olivia Bobak, 8, had a third-place finish (vault, 8.55) and a fifth-place finish (bars, 8.5).

Under the Big Top

WEST BEND - The Green County Gems participated in the "Under the Big Top" meet at the Kettle Moraine YMCA Feb. 19 to 21.

Veronica Andraski took first overall in her division, posting a 35.4 score in the prep-op all-around. Andraski scored an 8.8 in the bars (first-place), a 9.05 on the beam (second) and a 9.15 in her floor routine (second).

Chandra McGuire was fifth in her division in the all-around (32.6), scoring a 9.2 on the vault (third), an 8.7 on the floor (fourth) and a 7.5 on the bars (fifth). Josie Eberle was fourth on the bars (8.5) and Ramsey Benkert, 13-years-old and a Level 7 gymnast, was sixth on the bars (7.4).

Jenny Knox had a first on the floor (9.2) and a second on the beam (8.05), but failed to place in the all-around.

Lexus Trickel was third-overall in her division in the all-around (35.35). Trickel notched an 8.75 on the beam (second), an 8.7 on the floor (fourth) and a 9.35 on the vault (fourth). Jordan Hirsbrunner was fifth in her all-around division (35.0). She had an 8.7 on the bars (second) and an 8.6 on the beam (fifth). Casey Rielly was sixth in the all-around (34.2), posting scores of 9.35 on the vault (sixth) and 8.85 on the bars (sixth). Anya Teasdale, 9, was sixth on the beam with an 8.3

Alicia Kuester finished fifth in the all-around in her division with a total score of 36.3. Kuester had a 9.35 on the vault (fifth), a 9.25 on the floor (fifth) and an 8.7 on the bars (sixth).
