MADISON - Traiten Gorr finished his wrestling season this year at the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Youth Tournament at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison during the weekend of March 25-26.

On Friday, March 25, Gorr pinned his first two opponents, one from Beloit and the other from DeSoto.

Gorr lost 2-1 on Saturday to a wrestler from Richland Center, but bounced back to win his next match 1-0 against a Stratford student. In the third-place match, Gorr lost 3-2 to a Cashton wrestler.

In order to wrestle at the event, a student must have qualified at a regional competition and there were 16 spots total.

Gorr missed the entire 2009-10 season due to a broken arm. Just three weeks before the 2011 state meet, Gorr lost his aunt and uncle, Cindy and Doug Spooner, in a car accident. His cousin, Clay, was injured in the crash.

Other Mat Rat wrestlers in the meet included Cole Murray, Sam Kind, Bodie Minder and Max Haffele.
