MONROE - Two Monroe High School baseball players unanimously were named first-team Badger South All-Conference recently.

Honored were senior infielder Garrett Gogin, who hit a team-high .514 in the regular season with one home run and 32 RBI, and senior outfielder Jaron Kuester, who hit .429 with three home runs and 27 RBI.

Madison Edgewood outfielder Kyle McIvor was named the Badger South Conference Player of the Year.

Four players for the Cheesemakers received honorable mention, senior Brent Edmunds and juniors Hogan Edwards, Cole Murray and Carter Sawdey.

Monroe finished the season at 13-12 overall and 7-5 in the Badger South for third in the conference. Edgewood and Fort Atkinson were co-champions in the Badger South this year. The Cheesemakers' season came to an end in a 4-3 14-inning loss to Evansville in a regional semifinal.
